Abstract
The art of erotic poetry in Arab has been passed through several literary years in which various features in the art have been acquired or otherwise ignored .Some of the poets throughout their lives have been found focusing on modesty in their love poetry. They have presented erotic based on moral values and ethical lessons to access their beloveds. The others are seemed inclined to interpret the shameful deeds. This variety propagated two major groups in Arabic poetry especially in Ummayad era. The next comers followed them and proceeded these modes in their poetry. In this article we have presented the historical background of this art. More over the founders and followers and their contribution has been presented.
