Abstract
To get access to the destined meaning of the verses of the Holy Quran as per capacity and mental capability of the human beings is called Tafsir.It started in era of the prophet Muhammad (SAW). It has two major types, one is Tafsir Bil Mathur, while the other is called Tafsir Bil-Ray. Different tafaseer have been written by mufassireen and every muffassir has his own methodology. “Al-Dur-al Manthur of Jalal-al-din Al Syuti is one of the famous tafaseer. It is a pure Mathur tafsir, where in Syuti has compiled all the narrations of the prophet (SAW), his companions and their successors (Tabi’een), which are related to the tafsir. This tafsir is an invaluable treasure of Ahadith. In this article a critical analyses of the (Manhaj) methodology of Jalal-al-din Al Syuti in this tafsir has been taken.
