Abstract
Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus), the scrambling and trailing vine is the member of Cucurbitaceae family. Its large edible, sweet, juicy, fleshy fruit is usually deep red to pink, with many black seeds botanically called a “pepo”. Its encrustation is quite hard and from the inner side its colour is avadavat, and that part is too much confection. More than 90% of its part consists of water due to which it has been considered as one of the most important sources of water. According to Historians, this fruit belonged to South Africa. It contains vital chemical compounds, as each juicy bite has significant levels of vitamins A, B6 and C, lots of lycopene, antioxidants and amino acids. The life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is full of countless examples that show his status as a role model for each individual of the motherland. Beliefs, affairs or whatever they may be, it touches every aspect of life. Information about many fruit and there usage for medical or other purposes is also a subject of Sunnah. The Holy Prophet "A mercy for mankind" used many fruits and “Biteekh” is also one of them. This word is used in Arabic for watermelon, and the Holly Prophet usually eat “Biteekh” with Date. But there is some confusion in this regard whether the word Al.Biteekh mean watermelon or Melon? The word “Al.Biteekh” is used in Hadith but different “Muhaddis’’ explain it in different ways. The question is in which source of nutrition we can calculate it? And what are the advantages of this food? Due to various usage in traditional medical field and source of remedy from the start, now a days it’s substantiality is much higher than past. In this research paper we have provided a brief summary about the word “Al.Biteekh” from different point of view to solve this issue.
