Abstract

The research is about to identify the “Parent’s Involvement in Their Child Academic Achievement”. This study was descriptive in nature and survey research technique was used to know the guardian’s participation in their child education. The parents of students studying in Lahore city were the population of the study. The sample size of the research was two hundred parents of the students from class five to eight of twenty elementary schools, which were selected from two different areas of Lahore i-e Shalamar town and DHA Lahore Cantt. The quantitative technique was used for data collection. The questionnaire was used as research instrument. The instrument of the study was questionnaire about parent’s involvement about students’ academic achievement. The data was analyzed by using frequency analysis to find out the frequencies and the percentages of the demographic characteristics of the participants and the frequencies of the parents responses on the questions regarding their involvement in student academic achievement. It was concluded that majority of the parents were well involved in their child academic achievement, Parents qualification also affect the academic performance of child. This study recommended that: Father’s should also take responsibility of their children studies. Parents should attend parent-teacher meetings; Schools should also develop policies and programs to increase the involvement of parents in the academic matters of their children.
