Abstract
Denial of Service (DOS) attack will affect both LANs and WLANs but the perspective is same, that is to stop server, site or operating system to function in a reliable way and make them to death. This paper is a detail study of DOS attacks, starting from DOS types, working process, famous attacks, escaping mechanisms and methods of DOS attacks. New findings about DOS are also discussed with solutions. In its extreme, DOS attacks consider the most dangerous and destructive threats those needs a proper attention ans should be prevented.
