Abstract

South Asian Region has occupied a central place in defining the contours of international political order. India-Pakistan security complex is the pivot around which the South Asian strategic importance and relevance revolve. The addition of China factor further complicates rather catalyzes the influence of this region in world politics. The initiation of China’s One Belt One Road policy, of which China Pakistan economic corridor is a flagship project has currently generated a whole new arrangement of hopes and fears. while China’s rising role is contested or supported by various scholars, Pakistan’s role in the Chinese grand design cannot be denied. As the project is materializing and unveiling gradually, challenges for Pakistan, in the domestic, regional and international arena are piling up. This study aims at analyzing and uncovering objectively the challenges in Political Economic and Socio-Cultural realms with the goal to pinpoint areas where adjustments and innovations are required.
