Abstract
The authenticity of Ahmad Shoqi in the Arabic poetry is well known in the whole world, as he has contributed various kinds of literary arts to the Arabic literature. Beside the numbers of his poetical verses as no one has contributed to Arabic literature as much as he has and apart his attempts which gained him the honor, his deficiencies were criticized time to time by critics, particularly the literary lakes which were occurred in his narrative poetical works where highly upraised by them. These observation raised by critics are hereby collected and discussed in this article, it the light of these opinions we can easily decide his status in the narrative poetical art which he introduced in Arabic literature with a new shape and features. Adding more, the brief history of this art in the Arabic literature is also been sketched.
