Abstract
The Prophet Moses (AS) was a great prophet of Al-Mighty Allah, who sent for the guidance of Israelites and to save them from the cruelties of Pharaoh. The present paper comparatively analyses the birth narratives of Moses (AS) as given in the Noble Quran and the Holy Bible (Old Testament). It further examines the ancestry of Prophet Moses and the great events connected to his birth in the light of both the Islamic and Jewish teachings. The findings show that there is a discrepancy between the Islamic and Jewish opinions about the killing of children by Israelites under the orders of Pharaoh Raemsis the second i.e., either to prevent the living of Moses (AS) or to weaken the strength of them respectively. It also shows that the caretaker of Moses (AS) was the wife of Pharaoh named Asiya Razillaho Anha (RA) and not the daughter of Pharaoh named Bithiah as claimed by the Bible. Finally, the study confirms that the Islamic teaching regarding the birth of Moses (AS) and relevant events to be more reliable and authentic than the Jewish ones.
