Abstract
The current study was conducted on “the Religious Orientations and Aggression in Students of Colleges and Madrassah”. The objective of the study was to explore the relationship of religious orientations and aggression. It was also aimed to find out the differences of College and Madrassah on religious orientation and aggression. Data was collected from 200 students. The sample was selected from District Jhang. The sample was consisted on 100 college students and 100 madrassa students. Religious orientation is measured with the help of religious orientation scale developed by Francis & Leslie(1) and translated and adapted into Urdu. Aggression is measured with the help of aggression index develop Arnold H. Buss & Warren(2) , & translated into Urdu by Nida Zafar & Rukhsana Kausar.(3) After collecting the data correlation, regression analysis and t test is used through SPSS for statistical analysis. Results revealed that aggression is positively related with intrinsic, extrinsic, and quest orientation. . The results of t-test revealed that female and male studentare significantly different on aggression and religious orientation. The results of t-test also indicated those madrassa and college students are significantly different on aggression. Urban and city studentare also significantly different on aggression and religious orientation. Moreover the religious orientations have significant impact in predicting the aggression.
