Abstract
This study focuses on investigating Muslim students‟ religious orientations and its relationship with their personality traits. We use intrinsic-extrinsic religious orientation scale, quest religious orientation scale and big five inventory to collect the required data. Reliability of all scales are analyze through Cronbach‟s Alpha method. Reliability (r value) of all scales was in the range of 0.72 to 0.89. All university level Muslim students were population of the study. Four hundred Muslim students enrolled in different academic departments of a Pakistani public sector university participated as sample in the study. Statistical formulas of frequency distribution mean and Pearson Correlation Coefficients are applied to evaluate data of the study. The findings contribute in establishing associations between different aspects of the students‟ religious orientations and their personality traits. Results showed, extrinsic personal religious orientation was comparatively higher than intrinsic and extrinsic social religious orientations. Regarding the personality traits of students, agreeableness was dominating on the students dispositions in the society. The prevalence of neuroticism trait was comparatively lower than other personality traits.
