Abstract

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a prima transformative task of China’s aspiring visions for the advance rebuilding of Silk Road. It offers a vivid glance of China‟’ plans to materialize the One-Belt, One-Road initiative. Since Pakistan’s time-honored ties with China, it has been making efforts pertaining to realize its objectives in a responsible manner. The inter-tactical ties of China and Pakistan are in soaring pace with intensified quest for economic collaboration following the commencement of such a mammoth deal since 2013. For now, it stands upon four pillars: the multiple infrastructures, the energy requirements, economic progress and workforce development. The study deals with the CPEC’s repercussions, as an emblem of regional stability, peace, security and economic development in South-east Asia. CPEC is not aimed to benefit Pakistan only, but an investment for the opulence of posterity in South Asia. The wider horizon of silk route and Maritime silk route would expectedly engender the proximity among the regional countries as the project is a revolutionary step in the realm of economics. This project will transform the geo-economic and geostrategic substance of Pakistan which will help to render it into a valuable asset and a regional economic hub. This mega-project intends not only to strengthen the Pak-China relations but also to foster harmony as well as good-will amongst the neighbor countries. Further, it will pave the ground for nurturing the seeds of serenity in the whole region and will minimize the risk of divergence between regional nuclear powers. This research paper aims at exploring the challenges and prospects of CPEC in regional politics and inter-regional integration of success and prosperity in South Asia.
