Abstract
In the field of computer sciences such asgraphics and also analyzing the image and its processing,face recognition is the most prominent problemdue to thecomprehensive variation of faces and the complexity ofnoises and image backgrounds. The purpose and workingof this system is that it identifies the face of a person fromthe real time video and verifies the person from the imagesstore in the database. This paper provides a review of themethodologies and techniques used for face detection andrecognition. Firstly a brief introduction of FacialRecognition is given then the review of the facerecognition’s working which has been done until now, isbriefly introduced. Then the next sections covered theapproaches, methodologies, techniques and theircomparison. Holistic, Feature based and Hybridapproaches are basically used for face recognitionmethodologies. Eigen Faces, Fisher Faces and LBPmethodologies were introduced for recognition purpose.Eigen Faces is most frequently used because of itsefficiencies. To observe the efficient techniques of facialrecognition, there are many scenarios to measure itsperformance which are based on real time.
