Abstract
Allah sent the Prophet (P.B.U.H) with a comprehensive divine system which is a means of worldly welfare and salvation in Hereafter. Man has been given the status of crown of creation, among all creatures and has been made answerable for all deeds in shariah. However, crimes and sins are part of human nature, due to human fallibility. Due to sinful man becomes disappointment. Allah has facilitated man in such condition by blessing him with a deed, which if done masks his signs. It is called atonement and it has the status of both religious and economic worship. Thus atonement is a means bestowed by Allah. Allah has made certain deeds obligatory as a way of atonement to dispel the evil impact of the sign committed. These include: setting a slave free, observing fasts, and feeding the poor and the hungry. The atonement for breaking an oath and dhihar as to feed the destitute. Or provide them with clothes or is to set a salve free. Atonement is also obligatory for intentionally breaking a fast of sacred Ramdan and to ensure continuity of human life. Similarly, in Ihram, atonement is also enjoined not only for hunting during the Hujj but also on providing assistance in it. How ever the jurists differ about the performance of atonement in setting a salve faree, on the amount of food to be fed and the continuous observance of fasting. So conclude man reforms himself by getting rid of sins through atonement.
