Abstract
The Encyclopedia of Religion by Lindsay Jones (ED), first published in 1987, and it has 15 volumes. The second edition published in 2005 contains "well more five hundred fresh topics, almost one thousand completely new articles, and 1.5 million additional words than the unique. Imam Abu Hanifah is one of them. Better identified as `Imam-e-`Adham' (The Greatest Imam), or by his kunyah Abu Hanifah, Nu'man ibn Thabit was born in the town of Kufa in the year 80 A.H . Born into a people of tradesmen, the Imam's relations were of Persian source as well as descending from the gracious Prophet’s (saw) Companion Salman al-Farsi (ra). Imam Abu Hanifah's father, Thabit had met in Kufa Imam `Ali Ibn Abi Talib (ra) who made dua for him as well as his offspring, and several say that Abu Hanifah was a product of this dua. At the age of 20, Imam Abu Hanifah twisted his awareness towards the chase of advancing his Islamic information. Imam Abu Hanifah benefited from nearly 4,000 Sheikhs. The Great Imam died in Baghdad in 150 A.H at the age of seventy The city Qadi washed his body, and kept repeating: “By God, you were the greatest faqih and the most pious man of our time. By the time the bathing was finished, so many people had assembled that the funeral prayer was performed attended by fifty thousand people.
