Abstract
This paper aims to study the literary style of Mawlana Manazir Ahsan Gilani who was a well-known Indian religious scholar of the 20th century. He graduated from Dar ul-Uloom Deoband and played vital role in the preservation Islamic intellectual legacy. He documented Muslim tradition of India and composed a variety of books in almost all fields of Islamic studies. However, he is particularly distinctive in his writing style. He is considered an excellent writer in literary circles. A plethora of his books and writings are available both in poetry and prose that reflects his erudition not only in the subject matter but also his eminence in writing style. He has written in the fields of Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, jurisprudence, mysticism, history, education, preaching of Islam and political sciences. Apart from his thought, his writing style also influence the Urdu readers and writers. The present study illustrates the distinctive features and characteristics of his writings.
