Abstract

Islam as a religion do not impose any specific governance system, it only focus on implementation of Islamic regulation. It gives freedom to its followers to adopt appropriate way for dealing with their worldly affairs unless the way adopted is not contradictory with Islamic teachings and philosophy. Rather than compelling the believers to follow any particular system for election/selection of rulers, Islam give worth to opinion of masses rather than only leaders. As in his era, Prophet used to listen his comrades for making important decisions. In the modern times, democratic political system is popular in major parts of the world and same is in Pakistan. Democratic Governance system of Pakistan respect public opinion and according to Objective Resolution, passed in 1949, central focus was given on values based on democracy, bravery, equality, tolerance and social justice of running the government system. Despite it, Pakistan has been in de-stability and social deterioration. Its primary reason is lack of actual democratic characteristics in the country. Major problems stemmed from politicians not from system.
