Abstract
The services of 'Ulama (scholar’s) regarding Tafsῑr -e- Qurᾱn and defence against efforts of its literal and contextual alterations by critics are، undoubtedly، matchless and remarkable. The main focus of all their struggles was to chalk out the rules for preferences of Tafsῑre-Qurᾱn so that the authentic and un-authentic interpretations may be distinguished. They disclosed real difference between preferences and dispreferences. As a matter of fact، in Tafsῑr -e-Qurᾱn and principles of Tafsῑr, these preferences occupy great importance.Actually،it is standard to accept and reject any opinion. This criterion has been followed by the interpreters through ages. Al-Sheikh Qᾱzi Sanᾱullah Pani Patti (D.1225 Hijrah) is the most prominent interpreter of the rules of Tafsῑr- e Qurᾱn in subcontinent India. He exercised all these rules and regulations in his world famous Tafsῑr “Al Mazhari” which is a reliable blend of old and new Islamic sciences. These rules are basically concerned with the fundamentals of preferences of contextual reference ، primary sources and Arabic language and literature so to say. This research focuses Tafsῑr-e-Mazhari in connections with the rules for preferences and inductions. The research has been strengthened with various instances along with handsome critical analysis.
