Abstract

Shiekh Muhammad Amin al-Arami al-‘Alawi al-Harari is one of the greatest scholars of Islam in the present time. Originating from Etheopia, he is the author of many books including a huge tafsir i.e. Hada’iq al-Rawh wal-Rayhan fi Rawabi ‘Ulum al-Qur’an which consists of thirty-two volumes where he has discussed many sides of ‘ilm al-tafsir such as syntax, Rhetoric, morphology, Jurisprudential issues, relevance between chapters and verses of Qur’an, abrogation and dialectal differences which make this Tafsir an encyclopedia in the field of Tafsir because he has elaborated almost every point of ‘ilm alTafsir where it was dire and necessary for the full understanding of the verses. This exegesis is the combination of the work of earlier Mufassirun such as Tabari, Qurtubi, Razi, Ibn Kathir, Shawkani and Maraghi. Certainly, this is very comprehensive and encyclopedic piece of work ever seen in the field of tafsir but there are some demerits of this tafsir which includes that this exegesis is full of baseless narrations and Israelite reports which result on the validity of this tafsir, In this article brief intro of Shiekh al-Harari and his exegesis is presented.
