Abstract

Allah has created men and women for the satisfaction of each of the two genders, but this objective is possible only when both these two genders show regard for all those rights which Islamic jurisprudence has granted them. Rights offered by Islamic Jurisprudence guarantee tranquillity of domestic and social life. But unfortunately in Pakistani society in general and tribal society in particular, fair sex is kept deprived of her basic rights and emancipation. Because of this injustice, in these areas women are victim of different sorts of psychological diseases and fear. These negative things are the reasons of failure of our fair sex to perform her social responsibilities and this proves as deadly poison for healthy society. Quite a large number of organizations have been working for women’s rights since long now and legislative assemblies also make laws from time to time in this regard but till now Pakistani and particularly tribal women’s miserable conditions make it almost impossible to bring any solid improvement. That’s why a dire need is felt that all these rites and customs against women’s rights must be evaluated in light of principles of Islamic jurisprudence keeping in view the religious mindedness of Pakistani society and then the suitable solution can be offered. In under discussion article, an evaluation of rites and customs against women rights of Pakistani society has been presented, particularly tribal traditions in connection with inheritance, marriages and social status of women have been discussed.
